On Saturday, June 17th, communities across Cyprus came together to march for LGBTQI+ rights. For the second year in a row, LGBTQI+ organisations, communities, and allies from across the island united for United by Pride, an intercommunal Pride march calling for visibility, equality, and peace.
✊ Hosts
This year’s United by Pride was made possible by a powerful coalition of organisations:
- Queer Collective Cyprus
- Queer Cyprus Association
- LGBT PILIPINAS
- African LGBTIQ+ Community Cyprus
- LGBTQIA+ & Allies Students Club, University of Cyprus
- LGBTQ+ Cypriot Diaspora
- European University Cyprus LGBTQI+ Society
📍 The March
The event began at 18:00 with two parallel marches:
- From Eleftheria (Liberty) Square in the south
- From Kuğulu Park in the north
The marches converged in front of the Home for Cooperation in the buffer zone, where the crowd filled the space with rainbow flags, chants, and solidarity.
🎉 The Celebration
The gathering continued until 23:00, transforming the buffer zone into a place of celebration, resilience, and community. Music, performances, and speeches highlighted the struggles and achievements of the LGBTQI+ community in Cyprus, while also sending a clear message: we are stronger together.
🌍 United by Pride is more than a march — it is a call for unity across divides, and a vision for a Cyprus built on equality, justice, and love.
