At&nbsp;<strong>6 PM<\/strong>, two parallel marches began \u2014 one from&nbsp;<strong>Eleftheria Square<\/strong>&nbsp;and the other from&nbsp;<strong>Ku\u011fulu Park<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 converging at the&nbsp;<strong>Ledra Palace buffer zone<\/strong>, a place long marked by division but on this day transformed into a space of solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a world where&nbsp;<strong>conflicts, racism, nationalism, and rising anti-gender and anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric<\/strong>&nbsp;continue to deepen divisions, the third edition of&nbsp;<strong>United by Pride<\/strong>&nbsp;delivered a resounding and timely message:&nbsp;<strong>unity, peace, reconciliation, and human rights belong to all of us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Historic and Courageous Gathering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Pride was historic in more ways than one.&nbsp;<strong>United by Pride 2024<\/strong>&nbsp;became the&nbsp;<strong>first Pride held in an uncontrolled territory and ceasefire zone<\/strong>, reclaiming a space often associated with separation and reclaiming it as one of&nbsp;<strong>diversity, coexistence, and resistance against hate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations and communities from across Cyprus came together, overcoming past differences to stand for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83c\udf08 LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f Peace and reconciliation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\udd1d The reunification of Cyprus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udeab A collective stand against racism, sexism, fascism, and all forms of discrimination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Than a March \u2014 A Movement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>United by Pride is more than a one-day celebration. It is a&nbsp;<strong>movement<\/strong>&nbsp;that reimagines what a shared future can look like on this island. Marchers carried not only flags and banners, but also the weight of history \u2014 and the hope that unity across divides is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By filling the buffer zone with music, chants, and joy, participants showed that&nbsp;<strong>Cyprus\u2019 diversity is its strength.<\/strong>&nbsp;The event reminded us all that progress comes not from fear or exclusion, but from collective courage and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Thank You to Our Community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This powerful moment would not have been possible without the dedication of countless activists, volunteers, and artists who gave their time, energy, and creativity.
