With this in mind, we want to be clear about our position regarding Cyprus Pride.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We stand with our community. Especially now, as far-right narratives, disinformation, and violence threaten our safety and our rights. We will be marching on 31 May because being present matters. Because showing up, together, matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, we believe it is important to speak openly and honestly about how Cyprus Pride is organised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While we welcome this year\u2019s focus on protest and resistance, we have ongoing concerns about how decisions are made and who gets to be involved. Cyprus Pride continues to be organised by a single group, without space for other LGBTQIA+ organisations, groups and voices to have any meaningful role. We believe a community event should be built with the community, not just presented to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are also concerned about the role of corporate sponsorship and the lack of transparency around funding and decision-making. Pride should not be used as a branding opportunity by companies that do not actively support our communities beyond this one day. We know that community-led organising is not only possible. It is already happening, here and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not about division. It is about care, accountability, and building something more inclusive, together. We will be there on the day, marching with love and rage. And we will keep showing up with our questions, our concerns, and our hope for something better. Something that truly belongs to all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have already shared our concerns and raised questions with the organisers, and we are beginning to see positive steps.
