Queer Collective co-hosts a Cyprus screening of Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCP), the global film event running in nearly 60 countries this Pride Month under the banner No Pride in Genocide.

A screening of the QCP 2026 programme, followed by an open discussion and socialising.

QCP is a collectively curated short film programme co-organised by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) together with hundreds of partner groups worldwide. This year marks its fourth edition. Across June 2026, around 300 screenings are taking place internationally. Cyprus joins that map.

The 2026 programme is six short films, sixty minutes in total, by queer, Palestinian, and allied artists. The work spans historic Palestine, the diaspora, and beyond, across documentary, experimental, fiction, and animation. The throughline is art’s place in resistance and in the struggle for liberation.

Queer Cinema for Palestine began in 2021, when filmmakers refused to screen their work at the Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest in response to a call from queer and trans Palestinians. What started as that refusal grew into a ten-day festival across thirteen cities, and then into the global Pride Month event it is today. The name No Pride in Genocide names the politics directly: a refusal of pinkwashing, the instrumentalisation of queer and trans lives to justify occupation, apartheid, and genocide.

Palestine solidarity, anti-racism, and anti-colonialism are part of the same politics as queer liberation in Cyprus. The screening is an invitation to sit with that connection, watch the work of queer and Palestinian artists, and stay for the conversation afterwards.
